President - Heather Beiza

The President serves as the chief executive officer of the Hodge Road PTA and holds the highest level of responsibility and visibility within the organization. This is a demanding leadership role that requires exceptional organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a strong commitment to serving the school community. The President is responsible for planning, leading, and facilitating all PTA board and general membership meetings. This includes setting and distributing agendas, ensuring meetings stay on track, and leading discussions that guide decision-making for the PTA’s initiatives and budget. The President must be well-versed in the PTA’s bylaws, policies, and procedures, and is responsible for ensuring the organization remains in compliance with them at all times. As the official representative of the Hodge Road PTA, the President speaks on behalf of the organization in all public, school, and district-related matters. This includes attending and reporting at school functions, district forums, and community meetings, and serving as the main liaison between the PTA and school administration. The President must build strong working relationships with the school principal, board members, committee chairs, and parent volunteers to ensure alignment of PTA activities with school needs and goals. The role requires strategic oversight of the entire PTA calendar and budget, working closely with the treasurer to monitor and approve spending in alignment with the PTA’s mission and goals. The President is also responsible for driving membership growth, volunteer engagement, and community communication, often drafting monthly newsletter messages, important announcements, and email updates. The President is expected to be actively involved in all aspects of PTA planning and implementation. While the work can be delegated, ultimate accountability rests with the President — from managing behind-the-scenes logistics to showing up visibly at events and meetings. In addition, the President is considered an ex officio member of all committees and may attend any committee meetings to stay informed and provide guidance. This position is time-intensive and requires dedication, flexibility, and a willingness to handle unexpected challenges. The President sets the tone for the PTA and plays a critical role in building a strong, collaborative culture of support for students, teachers, and families.
