Fun in the Sunshade Fundraiser is HERE!!
Hodge Road families, it's time! Our Fun in the Sunshade Fundraiser kicks off Monday, May 11 and runs through Thursday, May 22. Every dollar gets us closer to shade structures that'll keep our kids cool at recess (and let's be honest β keep us cool at field day too).
Setting up a profile takes about two minutes and unlocks all the prize fun below. Once your kiddo has a profile, sharing with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and that one generous neighbor is a breeze.
Individual Rewards
Register a profile - Choose a prize from the mystery prize box
Raise $50 - Receive HRES swag after the fundraiser ends
Every $100 raised - Earn a raffle ticket toward a high-value item (last year it was a Nintendo Switch, and this year's prize is TBD but trust us, it's good π)
Class Reward
Top-earning class - Popsicle lunch outside
Schoolwide Reward
If we hit $9,000 - Schoolwide classroom dance party πͺ©

Shade structures aren't just nice-to-have. They protect our kids from harsh sun during recess, PE, and outdoor learning. Every dollar raised goes directly toward making outside time safer and more comfortable for our HRES Panther.
Thank you for being the absolute best community. Let's go raise some money!Β
Here are ways to share with your family!Β
βοΈ Fun in the Sunshade Fundraiser
May 11β22 | Goal: $9,000 | Reach: The whole world (we hope!)
Hi family, friends, and faraway favorites!
Our Hodge Road Panther needs your help. From May 11β22, our school is raising money for sun shade structures. We need the kind that keep kids cool and protected during recess, PE, and outdoor learning here in hot, sunny North Carolina.
We're not just fundraising. We're map-making.
We want to see how many states and how many countries our HRES family can reach. Every donation puts a pin on the map. We want all the family in all the places including aunts in Arizona, cousins in Connecticut, or grandparents in Germany.
π How to Donate
It takes about 30 seconds. Click the link, find our kiddo, drop in a donation of any size, and you've officially put your hometown on our map.
π Donate here: ****Insert Your Child's Link Here*******
βοΈ Why It Matters
North Carolina sun is no joke. Shade structures protect kids from harsh UV during the hours they spend outside every day β recess, field day, outdoor learning, PE. The funds we raise go directly toward building these for our school community. Every dollar helps. Truly.
π Spread the Word
If you know someone with a soft spot for kids, sunshine, or maps β forward this email! The more pins, the better. We'll share an update at the end of the fundraiser to show just how far our little panther's reach has grown.
Thank you for being part of our village, no matter what state (or country!) you call home. We feel so lucky to have you. βοΈ
With love,
****[Your kiddo's name] & the [Last name] family******

Hi [Name],
Hope you're doing well! Wanted to share something fun [kid] is part of at school.
Hodge Road Elementary is running a fundraiser from May 11β22 to install sun shade structures (you've felt that NC sun β the kids need them!). And our class came up with a fun twist: we want to see how many states and countries our HRES family can reach.
So we're calling on all our people, near and far, to put a pin on the map.
If you're up for it, you can donate any amount here: π LINK
Even $5 helps β and more importantly, it claims [state/country] for our map!
Thank you for always cheering [kid] on. We love you! βοΈ
xoxo, [Your name]
Subject: Help us put your state on the map πΊοΈ
Hi friends,
We don't normally send fundraiser emails, but this one is fun (and quick, promise).
[Kid]'s school, Hodge Road Elementary in Knightdale, NC, is raising money from May 11β22 for shade structures to protect kids during recess, PE, and outdoor learning. The class is running a friendly challenge to see how many U.S. states and countries they can collect donations from.
We thought of you β would you help us claim [state/country]?
Donate here (any amount works): LINK
If you're not in a position to donate, no worries at all β sharing this email with a friend in another state would be just as helpful.
Thanks so much, [Your name]

Hi [Name],
Quick update: thanks to family and friends from [#] states and [#] countries, [kid]'s school fundraiser is climbing toward our $9,000 goal!
But we still need YOU. We don't have [state/country] on our map yet, and that feels wrong. π
If you've got a minute and a few dollars, here's the link: π LINK
We close out May 22 β would love to have you on the map before then!
Thanks for being awesome, [Your name]
Subject: Last chance to get [state] on our map! β°
Hi [Name],
The Fun in the Sunshade Fundraiser ends Thursday, May 22, and I had to send one more note your way!
We're SO close to our $9,000 goal β and even closer to making the most ridiculous, far-reaching donation map you've ever seen. If you've been meaning to donate and just haven't yet, this is your sign.

Any amount counts. [State/country] is waiting. βοΈ
Thanks a million, [Your name]
Facebook/Instagram caption 1: Calling all family, friends, and former classmates from coast to coast (and beyond)!Β My kiddo's school is fundraising for shade structures and we're trying to see how many states + countries we can reach. Drop a donation in the link, claim your spot on our map, and become a hero to a sweaty NC kindergartener. βοΈ [link in bio/comments]
Facebook/Instagram caption 2 β shorter: 50 states. 7 continents. 1 fundraiser. Let's see how far our little panther can fly. βοΈ [link]
Instagram story idea: Screenshot a U.S. map, post it with: "Help us color in the map! [Kid]'s school fundraiser βοΈ Tap link to donate from your state!" β Add link sticker
A few tips for parents using these:
Personalize the brackets β kid's name, state, country, your name. The more specific, the better the response rate.
Send texts in waves β don't blast 30 people at once or you'll lose track of who responded.
Follow up once. People mean to donate and forget. A gentle nudge mid-fundraiser converts a TON.
Thank everyone individually. A quick "you're the best, thank you!!" text after they donate goes a long way for next year too.
